Kitchener, Ontario - The Carleton Ravens women's curling team are OUA bronze medalists. The Ravens responded after losing a close semi-final to beat the Brock Badgers 6-3 at the Westmount Golf and Curling Club.
Bouncing back was the story of the weekend for the Ravens, after dropping their matches to Trent (7-3) and Laurier (4-1) Carleton would pick up lopsided wins in draws 3 and 4 to gain momentum. After beating Ontario Tech (9-2) and Algoma (8-1) the Ravens would advance to the quarter-finals.
Facing the Laurentian Voyageurs in the quarter-final, the Ravens would score two in the sixth and two in the eighth as they came from behind to win 4-2.
The Ravens would face the Golden Hawks in the semi-final on Sunday morning and would fall behind 3-0 through four ends. While the Ravens would get one back in the fifth they couldn't close the game.
In the final draw, the Ravens would face the Brock Badgers for the bronze medal. The Ravens would once again fall behind, giving up one in the first, but would battle back, scoring 3 in the next two ends before Brock would battle back to tie it at three through five. The Ravens would score two in the sixth and add another in the seventh, closing out the match 6-3.
