Burlington, Ont. - Ravens forward Aaron Boyd (Winnipeg, Man.) has earned the OUA East/Far East Most Sportsmanlike Award. Boyd is joined in the OUA Awards by Far-East Division All-Star Mark Grametbauer (Halifax, N.S.) and OUA All-Rookie Oliver Castleman (Ottawa, Ont.).
A third-year forward with the Carleton Ravens, Boyd was a leader for the team. Offensively, the business major shone with 13 points in 11 games played. After starting the season with points in six straight games, including scoring two of the Ravens’ four game-winners therein, he would go on to be held off the scoresheet just three times.
Despite his impressive season offensively, Boyd shines most with his 200-foot game, where he’s a key contributor at both ends of the rink while only recording six minutes in penalties the entire season.
In his second season in the OUA, Grametbauer was sparkling for the Ravens posting a .909 save percentage in 8 starts. The former QMJHL goaltender made 271 saves for the Ravens in 2021-22.
A local product, Oliver Castleman came home with a bang to start his career with the Ravens. The forward displayed unmatched consistency scoring in points in 8 of 11 games including 5 goals and 8 assists. Castleman's 1.18 points per game were sixth among rookies while his 6 minutes in penalties matched the veteran Boyd.
