OTTAWA - The Carleton Ravens women's basketball team is proud to announce the commitment of Kitchener guard Zerina Duvnjak.
After helping the Huron Heights Secondary School to their first Waterloo County championship, Duvnjak was named the Julie Devenny Memorial Award as MVP of the WCSSAA senior girls league by unanimous vote. The 5'10" guard also plays with the Tri-City Soldiers in the JUEL of Ontario league where she was named a JUEL Prep All-Star.
Duvnjak will attend Carleton to continue her basketball career while also studying Health Sciences with the goal of becoming a doctor. Discussing her reasons for choosing the Ravens, Duvnjak admits the team and program are a perfect fit. "Carleton has the academic program I’m interested in, and a very competitive basketball program, which will allow me to improve as a student, athlete and person."
Having started to play basketball in grade 5, Duvnjak has developed into a versatile player who can create offensive opportunities for herself and her teammates and disrupt rhythm on the defensive end. Competitive in nature, Duvnjak is eager to begin her time with the Ravens. "I’m looking forward to competing at such a high level every day and playing on a championship calibre team."
