The Carleton Ravens will collide with the host Alberta Golden Bears in the U SPORTS Final 8 semifinals on Saturday night in front of what is sure to be a ruckus crowd at the Saville Centre.
On Friday night, the Bears entertained the home crowd with a decisive 85-68 win over the McGill Redbirds. As the clock ticked down the crowd was sure to let their intentions known chanting "We want Carleton!"
The Ravens wouldn't disappoint those who stuck around, and despite facing the Canada West champions from UVic, the Ravens advanced with an impressive 94-77 win.
Now, the Ravens will face the Bears for the fourteenth time in program history on Saturday at 10:00 p.m. ET (8:00 p.m. MT).
After a perfect 16-0 regular season, the Bears fell 70-64 to the Vikes in the Canada West finals before bouncing back Friday in the tournaments third game. The Ravens, who also entered the tournament off a loss, look to continue their quest for a third straight championship.
The Ravens and Bears last met in the 2019 Final 8 quarterfinals in Halifax. On that occasion, the Ravens would be victorious 100-60. They last met in the semifinals in 2014, which the Ravens also won 79-55 in a game in which Thomas and Philip Scrubb combined for 43 points.
