OTTAWA - The Carleton Ravens women's hockey team has added Georgetown defender Claudian Hennigan. Hennigan of the Mississauga Junior Hurricanes was a bronze medalist with Team Canada at the World Roller Games in 2019.
A 5'10" defender, Hennigan is a former provincial champion who provides a great offensive upside. Having led her midget team in scoring, Hennigan will provide the Ravens a dynamic edge along their blueline.
"I love that Carleton has goals to continuously improve their women’s hockey program to be a stronger competitor and make a run at a national title in the coming years," Hennigan said.
Hennigan should have no trouble adjusting to the high level of competition in the RSEQ, she has previously won provincial and North American championships in roller hockey with Team Ontario and Team Missouri. "I love the 4 on 4 style of play in roller hockey and the creativity of play definitely helped my hockey skills, especially stick handling and shooting."
"I felt Carleton was the best place for me to advance my hockey career and attend a top-tier business program," said Hennigan. "The hockey team staff did a great job helping me understand why Carleton was the best choice for a school where I can expect to have both academic and athletic resources to help me further develop on the ice and in the classroom."
In addition to her on-ice success, Hennigan is also an OFSAA singles tennis champion.
Hennigan will join the Ravens for the 2022-23 season where she hopes to make an immediate impact in the RSEQ while studying business at Carleton.
