OTTAWA - The Carleton Ravens women's hockey team has added some veteran experience to their lineup for the 2022-23 season with the addition of former Dartmouth College forward Cecilia Lopez.
Lopez has spent the past two seasons with CHH Necso Txuri Urdin in Spain's women's league. In 17 games over two seasons, Lopez led Liga Iberdrola with 39 goals and 15 assists. Prior to her time in Spain, Lopez played two seasons at Dartmouth College appearing in 36 games. A St. Mary's Academy Prep graduate Lopez joins Carleton where she now moves closer to her home in Winnipeg.
Described as a fast, physical player, the 5'9" Lopez will bring veteran leadership to the Ravens team.
"I'm excited to continue pursuing my passions of both hockey and music," said Lopez. "Carleton is the best place to help me flourish both academically and athletically."
A two-time All-Academic Team member, Lopez will study in Carleton's Master of Arts in Music and Culture program.
In addition to her athletic success, Lopez was previously chosen as a First Up Artist with RBCxMusic, a program developed to showcase and elevate emerging musicians and recording artists from across Canada.
