Carleton's Raphael Garcia was named Ottawa's top soccer player at the 2021 Ottawa Sports Awards. Garcia was named a First Team All-Canadian after his stellar 2021 campaign on the back line for the Carleton Ravens. His defensive efforts helped lift the Ravens to a national silver medal. He also contributed two goals and four assists in nine regular season games.
Garcia joined the Ravens in 2021 after having previously played in the CPL with Cavalry FC. The Ottawa, Ontario defender made an instant impact with the Ravens playing a key role in the team's U SPORTS silver medal run.
Garcia was presented the award at the Ottawa Sports Awards Gala in June.
