The Carleton Ravens are on the road for game three of the 2022 Can-Am Shootout on Saturday night as they face John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats.

Kentucky has made easy work of the Dominican Republic National Select Team and Mexican university Tec de Monterrey thus far on the tour. A hungry young Ravens team may be just what the doctor ordered in terms of some intensity and competition for the Wildcats. Despite being without a collection of returning players in their pair of tough losses at home the young Ravens are finding their stride and have gained confidence heading into this marque match-up.
Kentucky had five players reach double digits against the team from the Dominican Republic in game one of the tour, led by Oscar Tshiebwe who recorded 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting in just 22 minutes. Cason Wallace played the most minutes for Kentucky at just under 26 minutes recording 15 points.
It was a different collection of Wildcats who stepped up for game two with Chris Livingston and Sahvir Wheeler each providing fourteen points in the lopsided win. Livingston, Wheeler and Jacob Toppin all had double-doubles in the game.
For their first two games, the Ravens have been led by a rotating cast. In game one against Northeastern, the Ravens were led by returning guards Aiden Warnholtz (Kanata, Ont.) and Connor Vreeken (Kingston, Ont.). Warnholtz led the way with 22 points in over 30 minutes while Vreeken had 14 points including going 4-for-4 from three-point range.
In game two, second-year player Wazir Latiff, looking to have a breakout season with a bigger role for Carleton, led the team with 13 points in game two bringing his average to 11 points per game through the first two matchups. Red-shirt first-year Marjok Okado had 11 points and two steals.
The Ravens will need to get back to their strong shooting game if they want to have success on Saturday night.
