OTTAWA – The Carleton Ravens are proud to announce Kevin Shields as the new head coach of the Carleton Ravens Nordic Skiing program. Shields joins the Ravens from the nearby Nakkertok Nordic Ski Club where he is Junior Team Lead Coach.
Shields joins the Ravens with over 25 years of experience leading Nordic skiing programs having previously coached with Nakkertok, Ski Fit North Western Ontario, Lappe Nordic Ski Club and the Waterloo Region Nordic Sports Club. From 2011-2013 Shields was also the Head Coach of the University of Waterloo’s Cross Country and Track team.
Currently completing his Master of Coaching from the University of Alberta, Shields is a teacher and CCD-L2C Training Coach with an established record of helping junior athletes prepare for provincial, national and international competitions.
