OTTAWA - The Carleton Ravens men's hockey teams four-game winning streak came to an end Saturday night when they lost 5-3 to the uOttawa Gee-Gees.
The Ravens fell behind midway through the first period as the Gee-Gees scored three goals in under three minutes to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Oliver Castleman (Ottawa, Ont.) would respond before the end of the first scoring his third of the season on the powerplay as the Ravens trailed by two after twenty.
A scoreless second period set the tone for a physical and determined third and the Ravens wasted little time getting into the action. Alexandre Hogue (Hawkesbury, Ont.) scored his second of the year on the powerplay as his wrister from the point sailed past Christian Sbaraglia to make it a one-goal game.
Majid Kaddoura (Chestermere, Alta.) would head to the box minutes later after potentially saving a Gee-Gees goal as he hauled down a uOttawa player on a breakaway, and after a successful penalty kill the Ravens struck quickly as Blake Allan scored his second of the year to tie the game.
The game would go back and forth over the next ten minutes before Tommy Bouchard scored for the Gee-Gees giving them the late lead. Bouchard's goal would stand up with the help of a Mathieu Desgagners empty netter and the Ravens would see their win streak snapped at four.
Carleton returns to action on Thursday, December 1, 2022, for the annual Teddy Bear Toss in support of the Boys and Girls Club's Angel Tree Project.
