With a perfect 4-0 weekend, Carleton Ravens basketball completed the sweep by claiming by Athlete of the Week awards. Receiving the weekly honour presented by The Prescott are third-year guard Kali Pocrnic and Ravens' fifth-year Grant Shephard.
Kali Pocrnic continues to be the engine for the Carleton Ravens 6-1 season. The Oakville guard is now second in the OUA with 21.4 points per game while being tied for second in the league with 150 points scored. In two games this weekend, Pocrnic put up back-to-back 22 point nights as she powered the Ravens to a pair of victories. On Friday, Pocrnic scored 8 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime before scoring 6 of the Ravens 8 points in the victory. Defensively, Pocrnic recorded 5 defensive boards.
The fifth-yeard guard from Kelowna was a force for the Ravens over the weekend. On Friday night, Shephard needed only 19 minutes to score 17 points and record 4 rebounds. On Saturday, Shephard took his play to another level scoring a double-double with 25 point sand 10 rebounds.
