On Thursday the OUA announced award winners and all-stars for the 2022 season. Among the award recipients, Ravens captain Chloe Doherty became the first Ravens player to be awarded the OUA East Community Service Award. At the same time, teammates Chloe Lachance-Soulard, Elodie Sylvain and rookie Chloe Doiron were named to the East's second all-star team.
Carleton’s Chloe Doherty, a fourth-year forward from Ottawa, Ont. is a member of Carleton’s Varsity Council and is central in coordinating community engagement and outreach opportunities among the varsity student-athletes. Leading the Ravens both on and off the pitch as captain, Doherty is also a vital part of the Junior Ravens program, offering young players in the community an opportunity to have fun while developing soccer skills and helping to grow the game in Ottawa.
The Ravens' trio of second-team all-stars spans the program. In goal, Ravens keeper Chloe Lachance-Soulard appeared in all twelve regular season games while allowing only thirteen goals. Lachance-Soulard held clean sheets in five starts including three shutouts.
Elodie Sylvain was a rock in the Ravens' backline providing strength and stability while scoring twice. The fourth-year defender from Ottawa played an essential role in Ravens set pieces providing a deep threat that kept defenders on guard.
First-year forward Chloe Doiron arrived at Carleton and immediately made an impact. Teaming up with Chloe Doherty and Lauren Illman, the Dieppe, N.B., striker scored three goals including two game-winning goals for Carleton.
