A five-point week and a pair of dominant performances have earned Simon Kerr (hockey), Kali Pocrnic (basketball) and Jacqueline Urban (basketball) Carleton Ravens Athlete of the Week Honours presented by The Prescott.
Second-year defender Simon Kerr had five assists in two games for the Ravens this week as they picked up four key points with wins over RMC and uOttawa. Kerr was instrumental in the Ravens' hot start in both games being involved in the team's first goal on both nights. The Kingston product is now tied for third among defencemen in the OUA with 16 assists.
Carleton's motor, Kali Pocrnic, couldn't be stopped on the weekend. The speedy guard from Oakville, Ontario, set the pace for the Ravens and never backed down as they swept their annual tour of Toronto. In back-to-back nights, Pocrnic played over 34 minutes per game while facing the best defenders UofT and TMU could send her way. After scoring 15 points on Friday, Pocrnic exploded on Saturday scoring 27 points for the second Saturday in a row.
Ravens rookie Jacqueline Urban put the power in power forward over the weekend cleaning 31 rebounds while scoring 30 points with a pair of double-double performances. The 5'11 Psychology major now has eight double-doubles and sits second in the OUA in rebounds.
