The Carleton fencing team is finding early season success capturing three team medals at the recent Carleton Invitational.
Carleton fencing hosted the Carleton Invitational Fencing Tournament on January 14 and 15. Eighty-seven teams participated across six different events, with approximately 350 athletes competing making it the second-largest competition in the 53 years that Carleton has been hosting this tournament.
Women's Epee: Team Carleton - Gold: Ava Zhou, Hope Johnson, Sharron Schuppe (Carleton Alumni)
Men's Sabre: Team Carleton A - Bronze: Daniel Manyoki, Burke Wilson, Quinn Cunnane
Women's Sabre: Team Carleton - Silver: Lauareen Tysnski, Raina Zhang, Emma McGrath, Madelyn Krasnay (Carleton Alumni)
Notable standouts among the Ravens included rookies Ava Zhou and Hope Johnson who led the women's Epee team to a gold medal. The Carleton Invitational was the first tournament for rookies Emma McGrath and Lando Willliam who also did very well.
