Oshawa, Ont. - Mark Grametbauer was spectacular in goal as the Carleton Ravens took game one of their OUA East first-round series 4-0 on Wednesday night. The Ravens' third-year goaltender made 47 saves recording his first OUA playoff shutout.
The Halifax, NS, goalie stood tall early, turning aside 21 Ontario Tech shots in the first period alone.
After Kieran Craig (Alexandria, Ont.) would score on the power play to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead. Grametbauer continued to shine making a sprawling pad save just moments before Will Collins (Ottawa, Ont.) tipped home a Lukash Matthews (Nepean, Ont.) shot to double the visitors lead.
Grametbauer wasn't done after two, in the third he would stand tall again, helping the Ravens to kill off back-to-back penalties while making 12 saves in the final frame to bring his total up to 47.
The shutout is the Ravens' first in the playoffs since Francois Brassard recorded a clean sheet in the 2019 Bronze Medal game - a 3-0 win over Western.
Carleton now have an opportunity to finish off the Ridgebacks at home on Saturday night when the two teams meet at the Ice House.
