On Friday night, the Carleton Ravens will welcome the Bishop's Gaiters with a serious shot at the RSEQ playoffs hanging in the balance. As both teams reach the final days of the regular season, Carleton sits just four points behind the Gaiters for the fourth and final playoff spot.
After going 1-2 last weekend, but picking up a key shutout victory over the McGill Martlets, Carleton closed the gap on the Gaiters who enter Friday having lost two straight and five of six since the holiday break. Included in that six-game slide is the last meeting between these two teams, a 4-0 victory for the Ravens.
Carleton's victory in Lennoxville came on the back of an offensive explosion when the powerplay scored four goals in the second period. The win was Carleton's first in the season series, but also marked the first time the two teams didn't play a one-goal game.
The Ravens are coming out of January having gone 3-4 and closing the gap on the Gaiters from nine points to just four. The Ravens also enter the weekend with two players just a pair of points away from double digits. The double-digit season has been an elusive feat for the Ravens, who haven't had a player achieve the mark since Annie-Pier Tremblay in 2018-19.
Catch all the action when the Ravens host the Gaiters on Friday at 7 PM inside the Carleton Ice House.
