With a pair of MVP performances Ava Zheng (Fencing) and Mark Grametbauer (Men's Hockey) have been named Ravens Athletes of the Week as presented by The Prescott.
Ava Zheng claimed the gold medal in the women's individual épée on day 1 of the OUA Championships. On day 2, she helped the Ravens capture silver in the women's épée team relay earning her the Dave O'Donnell Trophy as the most prolific women's fencer determined to be the most proficient in skill, style and sportswomanship as voted by the OUA coaches and officials.
After wrapping the regular season with a shutout, Grametbauer now has 3 consecutive shutouts including 47 and 40 save shutouts against Ontario Tech as the Ravens swept the Ridgebacks. Grametbauer's impress playoff play included 21 first-period saves in game one and 14 saves with the series on the line in the third period of game two.
Grametbauer enters the second round riding a 181:27 shutout streak that extends to 205:02 at even strength.
