Sudbury, Ont. - The Carleton Ravens took four of six points on Saturday afternoon in Sudbury walking away with a draw in the women's match before claiming a decisive win on the men's side.
Hunter Jones made 8 saves as the Laurentian Voyageurs held Carleton scoreless on Saturday afternoon. The Ravens peppered the Laurentian keeper with 16 shots, including nine in the second half but could solve Jones.
Carleton had their chances throughout the match, including a shot in the opening five minutes from Martina Milito, but Jones was up to the task. The Ravens looked to have a chance to win the game in the 90th minute, but Chloe Doiron was unable to beat the keeper on a penalty leaving the game a draw.
The Ravens' offence continued to torch its way through the 2023 season, opening the scoring in just the sixth minute. After Darren Bouaziz gave the Ravens the lead, Tareq Hamad and Eric Yoseke would both score before the 45th minute. Just as Carleton looked like they'd take a comfortable lead into the half, Timi Aliu would score on a penalty kick to cut the lead to two.
The Ravens would score twice in the second half with Yusuf Osman and Michael Blight adding to the total.
Carleton soccer continues their road trip Sunday with a doubleheader at Nipissing.
