OTTAWA - The Carleton Ravens fell behind early and were unable to overcome the deficit on Thursday evening losing 68-0 to the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
The loss is Carleton's second in a row, setting up a pivotal home game this Sunday when the Ravens host Bishop's. The Gee-Gees struck early and often in the first half, scoring three tries in the opening twenty minutes. By the end of the first half, the Ravens trailed 32-0.
Despite strong play from the Ravens impact players off the bench, Carleton was unable to slow the Gee-Gees who continued to pour on the offence scoring 34 more points in the second half.
Despite the loss, the Ravens remain three points ahead of the Montreal Carabins with two games each remaining in the 2023 season. With games remaining against Bishop's, this coming Sunday, and Laval the Ravens need to extend the gap quickly to secure a playoff position.
