OTTAWA - The Carleton Ravens women's soccer team improved to 2-1-0 on the season Saturday afternoon when they beat tenth-ranked Nipissing 1-0.
The Lakers came out strong in the first half but Ravens keeper Chloe Lachance-Soulard made 5 saves in the opening half to backstop the Ravens. Despite being outshot 5-1 in the first half the Ravens finished the opening 45 scoreless.
After weathering the storm in the first half, the Ravens began pressing in the second. In the 63rd minute, the Ravens would strike as Salena Devellis placed home a beautiful header-cross combo to open the scoring.
Carleton would lock down the rest of the afternoon for their second win of the season. With the win, Carleton improved to 2-0-0 at home and 2-1-0 on the season. They return to action on Sunday, September 17, when they host Laurentian at 12 noon.
