OTTAWA - The Carleton Ravens men's basketball team completed the sweep of the House-Laughton Hoops Classic on Sunday with a 95-72 win over the visiting UQAM Citadins.
The win was Carleton's third of the weekend, knocking off the previously undefeated Citadins. UQAM opened the game by taking a lead late in the first quarter, but the Ravens closed the first up three and never looked back.
After going 1-6 from beyond the arc in the first, Carleton heated up in the second quarter shooting 80% from deep, including a 3-3 streak from Aubrey Dorey-Havens to break away from the Citadins. UQAM would outscore the Ravens by 1 in the third, led by five points from each of Bahaide Aidara and Elie Karojo, but wouldn't get any closer.
Marjok Okado was 4-4 in the fourth as he capped off an impressive 30-point afternoon that cemented his spot as tournament MVP.
In the afternoon's opening game, tournament all-star Alexander Dewar led all scorers with 28 points as the Saskatchewan Huskies scored their first victory of the tournament in a thrilling 87-83 over the Guelph Gryphons.
The Gryphons, who were led throughout the tournament by Emmanuel Ansah, led with 1:21 to play before the Huskies edged their way to victory.
