OTTAWA - The Carleton Ravens women's hockey team were shutout on home ice for the second straight night on Saturday falling 1-0 to the McGill Martlets.
The Ravens and Martlets both struggled to build momentum in the first until Carleton began to mount some pressure late in the period, despite a pair of nice chances in the final minute the game was scoreless after one.
In the second, the Martlets would open the scoring shorthanded, after creating pressure at the blueline McGill broke in 2-1 and Vienna Rubin found Taylor Garcia wide open the slot for a quick redirect past Caitlyn Whitehead (Ottawa, ON). Despite creating chances late in the period the Ravens trailed 1-0 after forty.
In the third, the Ravens' pressure would prove detrimental as a pair of attempts at creating opportunities on offence led to penalties for the Ravens. Despite good pressure late in the third, the Ravens could not climb back to level with McGill dropping their fourth straight to start the season.
