OTTAWA - Facing one of the best programs in U SPORTS a pair of early goals burnt the Carleton Ravens on Saturday as they lost 3-0 to the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
On a dark and dreary Saturday afternoon, Niba Dlamini and Cassandra Provost each scored in the opening 14 minutes to put the Gee-Gees up 2-0 before water had even gathered on the ball. The Ravens didn't relent, pushing back hard and generating six shots on goal, two on target, in the half.
As the match progressed the Ravens' hopes of a comeback were made harder as Provost notched her second of the match, adding to her earlier brace. Chloe Lachance Soulard would make two more stops in the half for Carleton while Juliann Lacasse made five saves for the Gee-Gees in the win.
With the loss, the Ravens now fall to 4-2-2 and sit one point behind Ontario Tech for fourth in the conference with a game in hand. The Ravens will host the Ridgebacks on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. before welcoming the 3-5-1 TMU Bold on Sunday afternoon for Pride in the Park, a part of the Carleton University Pride Fest.
