OTTAWA - Clutch goal scoring was on display this weekend as Luca Piccioli (men's soccer) and Jenna Morais (women's hockey) earned Ravens Athlete of the Week honours presented by McKeen Metro Glebe.
Ravens forward Jenna Morais was a driving force for Carleton as they picked up a pair of wins over Montreal and Ottawa. Morais scored the Ravens' game-winning goals both nights, including a blistering one-timer in double-overtime Saturday as the Ravens picked up their first-weekend sweep.
On the biggest stage of the year, Ravens soccer star Luca Piccioli shined the brightest. On Wednesday, Piccioli scored the Ravens lone regulation goal on Wednesday, notching a 54th minute penalty kick in the OUA Semifinal. The Ottawa soccer product continued to shine on Saturday tying the OUA Championship game with a blistering free kick from well outside the box. Then after marking an assist on the game-winning goal, Piccioli brought the crowd to their feet again late in the second half with a brace as the Carleton Ravens captured their fourth OUA men's soccer title.
