OTTAWA - It's the final weekend of university sports action in the OUA for 2023. The action will start on the ice with the Carleton Ravens men's hockey team hosting a pair of top-ranked U SPORTS opponents before the women's hockey team plays at home for the first time in over a month on Sunday in our annual Toy Drive Game.
Two of Ontario's best teams visit the Carleton Ice House over the weekend when Brock, ranked 4th in the U SPORTS top ten, and Guelph visit Ottawa. The Gryphons visit on Friday night for their second game of a rare three-game road trip this weekend coming into Ottawa after a Wednesday night game at Nipissing. Saturday night hockey features the Badgers making their first regular season trip to Carleton University since November of 2015.
The final home game at Carleton University in 2023 will take place on Sunday afternoon when the Carleton women's hockey team hosts the tenth-ranked Montreal Carabins at 4:00 p.m. The rivalry between these two RSEQ rivals has grown in recent years and Sunday afternoon's game promises to be fast and physical.
Fans are invited to bring a new toy or cash donation to the game in support of the Carleton Athletics Varsity Council Toy Drive. Great activities, prizes and a cash canteen in support of the toy drive will all be available on the concourse.
Due to fan safety improvements, a Teddy Bear Toss is no longer possible at the Carleton Ice House.
Looking to defend their 2023 U SPORTS National Championships the Carleton Ravens continue to travel Ontario, having placed most of November on the road. With three games left in the 2023 half of the season, the Ravens head to McMaster on Friday and York on Saturday before returning to Ottawa for a crosstown rivalry game against the University of Ottawa at Montpetit Hall on Wednesday night. All three stops on the Ravens cross-province tour can be watched live on OUA.tv.
