North Bay, Ont. - The Carleton Ravens may have gained some well-needed confidence on Saturday night with an impressive 87-58 win over the Nipissing Lakers.
After a back-and-forth first half Carleton found itself leading 38-34 at the half. But it would be the second half that set the ton for the Ravens. Carleton exploded in the third quarter, outscoring the Lakers 28-10 to pull away on the back of twelve points by Xavier Spencer (Edmonton, Alta.). Spencer and the Ravens went 4-7 from three-point range in the quarter with Spencer shooting an electric 3-4 from deep.
Carleton didn't look back in the fourth either, six Ravens scored, including five from Augustas Brazdeikis (Oakville, Ont.) as the Ravens continued to pull away outscoring Nipissing 21-14.
With the win, Carleton has now won four straight and holds a 5-2 record in the OUA. Their next matchups will come on Friday and Saturday when they head to McMaster and York.
