Oshawa, Ont. - The Carleton Ravens men's hockey team could only claim one point on Friday night, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks in overtime.
The Ravens had opened the scoring in the first period when Parker Aucoin (Sturgeon County, Alta.) used his defender as a perfect screen before wiring a quick wrister over the shoulder of William Desmarais. The Ravens would lead 1-0 after one outshooting the Ridgebacks 13-4.
Ontario Tech would bounce back in the second period outshooting Carleton 11-6. For their hard work, the Ridgebacks would be rewarded as Jeremy Michaud scored his third of the year from Andrew Suriyuth to even the game.
Penalties would dictate most of the pace in the third as both teams took turns taking trips to the sin bin. Carleton would be unable to convert on a 5-on-3 that lasted almost a full two minutes before killing off a penalty to Aaron Boyd (Winnipeg, Man.) mid-way through the period.
