TORONTO - The Carleton Ravens have earned points in three straight games following a 6-5 overtime win over the York Lions.
Kieran Craig (Alexandria, Ont.) kicked off a wild afternoon of scoring just 20 seconds into the contest finishing off a centering pass from Alex Johnston before Aiden MacIntosh would tie it for the Lions midway through the first.
Just after the Lions goal, the Ravens would gain some power play time and despite scoring on a 5-on-3 would retake the lead. Late into the second power play, Matt Barberis (Surrey, BC) unloaded a slapshot from the blue line which worked its way through the crowd for the 2-1 lead.
Kieran Craig would once again strike first in the second period. Scoring his ninth of the regular season, emphatically finished a 2-on-1 with Johnston for their second goal of the afternoon. Not long later the wheels would come off for the Ravens as they would allow four goals in 12:07 in the second period to find themselves behind 5-3 after 40.
To start the third it was more of the same for the Ravens as Kieran Craig would score his team-leading tenth goal of the season cutting to the middle at the top of the circles and using Nick McCarry as a screen to beat Carter Serhyenko to cut the York lead to 1.
Midway through the third, the Ravens would complete their comeback when Alex Johnston (Ottawa, Ont.) would get a goal of his own, finding a Lukash Matthews rebound and depositing it into an empty cage forcing overtime.
In the extra frame, the Ravens would earn a power play as Klim Georgiev would be called for tripping and they would immediately go to work. Thirty-nine seconds into the powerplay rookie Nolan Seed (Newboro, Ont.) would unload a slapshot for his second game-winning goal this season.
The Ravens now return home on Friday night when they host Guelph before welcoming Brock on Saturday night. Both games will drop the puck at 7:00 p.m. at the Carleton Ice House.
