After a scoreless first period, Alex Johnston (Ottawa, Ont.) would take a stab at a loose puck off an offensive zone face-off and beat Reece Proulx through the five hold to open the scoring. Johnston's shorthanded goal was the Ravens' third of the season putting them one behind UQTR for the OUA lead.
Carleton would continue to add to the offence early in the third when Nolan Seed scored his second of the season on the powerplay. Seed's goal would extend the lead to two for only three minutes before Harrison Caines scored for the Lakers to make it 2-1.
Carleton would respond quickly in transition with Parker AuCoin (Sturgeon County, Alta.) scoring his eighth of the season on a feed from Reese Belton to renew the two-goal advantage. Oliver Castleman would continue the breakout third-period for the Ravens walking off the halfway and wiring home a wrist shot past Proulx.
The Lakers would get one more by Mark Grametbauer (Halifax, NS) but it wasn't enough as the Ravens would hang on for the victory. Carleton are back on the road next weekend when they face Ontario Tech and York before returning home to face Guelph and Brock to wrap up 2023 on December 1 and 2.
