St. Catharine's, Ont. - Ravens swimmer Finn Tuck stole the show over the weekend as the swim team competed at the Dean Boles Division Championships at Brock University on November 25 and 26, 2023.
Tuck qualified for the U Sports Championships in both 100m and 200m backstroke, placing first in both events. He was also second in 50m backstroke. All three times were Carleton Varsity records. Finn then led off the men’s “A” 4 x 100m free relay in a Varsity record time, and the team of Finn, Rhys Martin, Jack Lu, and Luc Landry also set a Varsity record!
Other top 8 individual finishers were Luc Landry, Declan McGroarty, Dina Egorov, Carmen Caires, and Jack Lu.
Carleton placed fourth on the men’s side and fifth on the women’s, finishing fifth overall.

(John) Mills’ record of 26.23 from 2004.• Men’s 100m backstroke: Finn Tuck: 55.37, breaking his own record of 56.39 from 2022.• Men’s 200m backstroke: Finn Tuck: 2:01.78, breaking Ken McDonald’s time of 2:04.20 that had stood since 1997!• Men’s 100m freestyle: Finn Tuck: 50.49, breaking Thomas Leung’s time of 50.74 from 2016.• Men’s 4 x 100m freestyle relay: Finn Tuck, Rhys Martin, Jack Lu, Luc Landry: 3:31.46, breaking the record of 3:32.09 set in 1988, so long ago that we don’t have a list of the team members, though Stepan Oliva would have been one of them!
