Lennoxville, Que. - Anya Misner scored twice as the Ravens women's hockey team won their third straight game on Friday night with a 5-1 defeat of the Bishop's Gaiters.
Aioffe Mahaffy opened the scoring for the Ravens in the first. Mahaffy powered down the left wing before blistering a wrist shot past Aglae Rene De Cotret to open the scoring. The Ravens' lead would hold through the first, with Caitlin Whitehead stopping all 11 shots she faced for the first-period lead.
Carleton would extend their lead in the second period when Misner broke in on a rush beating the Bishop's keeper for her first of the game. Ava Beck would score on a breakaway before the end of the period and the Carleton Ravens led 3-0 after forty minutes.
The Ravens locked down the Gaiters after building their lead holding the hosts to only seven shots in the final forty minutes of play. Bishop's best chance to come back did come in the third. With the Ravens on the power play, Gabrielle Santerre would break in alone shorthanded and beat Whitehead for her fifth goal of the season to cut the lead to two. The Ravens wouldn't back down, and while still on the power play, Misner would score her second of the game to restore the three-goal lead.
The Ravens would add an empty net goal from last week's U SPORTS Player of the Week, Jenna Morais, and the Carleton Ravens secured their third straight victory.
