OTTAWA - Ravens hockey has swept the Athlete of the Week awards to wrap up November as Hayden Serniuk and Mark Grametbauer claimed the weekly honour presented by McKeen Metro Glebe.
Hayden Serniuk scored two goals including the game-winner on Sunday afternoon as the Carleton Ravens women’s hockey team beat the 10th-ranked Montreal Carabins. Serniuk drew a penalty shot while short-handed midway through the second period and then made no mistake firing her opportunity past the Carabins goaltender for the opening goal. On her next shift, Serniuk picked up a loose puck and wrapped it into an empty cage to put the Ravens ahead 4-1.
Veteran goaltender Mark Grametbauer continues to stand tall in the Carleton crease. The Halifax product stopped 21 of 23 shots he faced on Friday night before stopping 24 of 25 on Saturday as the Carleton Ravens upset the number four-ranked Brock Badgers 3-1.
Grametbauer now sports a 9-5-2 record with a 2.75 GAA and 0.905sv% in 16 games with being fourth in the OUA in minutes played with 938.
