Hamilton, Ont. - The Carleton Ravens men's basketball team's win streak came to an end on Friday night with an 80-66 loss to McMaster.
McMaster outshot Carleton all night but did the most damage with the three-ball. Mac hit 44% from beyond the arch to Carleton's 17%. The sharp shooting started early as Mac shot 50% in the first quarter for a narrow 16-15 lead.
Mike Demagus went off for the hosts in the second quarter scoring 11 points as Mac built up a twelve-point lead at the half. Carleton's game slipped away as the team committed ten turnovers in the second frame to Mac's three.
With the Marauders ahead in the second half their offense showed its self-confidence going five for eight from three to pull away. Marjok Okado (Edmonton, Alta.) led the Ravens with six points in the frame, but Demagus continued his hot night putting up eleven.
Carleton would battle back in the fourth, with five points from Emanual Milon leading the way, but despite carrying the play couldn't overcome the gap Mac had built.
Carleton will look to bounce back tomorrow when they face York before returning to Ottawa on Wednesday night to face the Gee-Gees.
