TORONTO - The Carleton Ravens were once again the victim of a red-hot offence losing 85-78 to the York Lions on Saturday night.
The Lions shot 50% from beyond the arch as they scored 42 of their 85 points from deep. Elias Panagiotopoulos had 26 points, with 24 coming from downtown to pace the Lions past Carleton.
The Ravens led after the first quarter, having outscored York 22-18. Wazir Latiff led Carleton early, scoring five points in the opening frame while Noah Horobetz Simpson and Aubrey Dorey-Havens both had four. Panagiotopoulos began to heat up in the second, scoring six points while York outscored Carleton 20-13 to lead by three at the half.
York would extend their lead to seven after the third quarter with Panagiotopoulos leading the way with five threes for 15 points. Xavier Spencer and Wazir Latiff helped keep the Ravens close in the second half combining for 11 third-quarter points.
The two guards would continue their strong play in the fourth, combining for 13 points while the Ravens tied York at 21 in the quarter.
Carleton will look to bounce back Wednesday when they face the Ottawa Gee-Gees at Montpetit Hall.
