TORONTO - The Carleton Ravens women's basketball team continued their hot play routing the York Lions 107-41 on Saturday night.
The Ravens pulled ahead 23-15 after the first quarter and never looked back outscoring York by 20, 19 and 19 in the final three quarters. Teresa Donato (Ottawa, Ont.) led all Ravens with 19 points while seven players scored double-digit points.
While the Ravens' offence impressed, it was their defence that overwhelmed York. Carleton forced 19 steals as York committed 27 turnovers and 25 fouls on the night. The Lions struggled to build any momentum on the floor shooting just 21.3% despite 23 points from Kiera Leveridge.
The Ravens also dominated the glass with five players recording seven rebounds as Carleton outrebounded York 49-28.
Miranda Nivaro recorded her first regular season points as a Raven in the fourth quarter scoring 5 points on 2-3 shooting.
The Ravens will face Ottawa on Wednesday night at Montpetit Hall to wrap up the 2023 half of the schedule.
