OTTAWA - Carleton Ravens basketball has swept the Athlete of the Week presented by McKeen Metro Glebe for January 22-28. Guards Xavier Spencer and Kali Pocrnic earned the honours one week ahead of the Capital Hoops Classic on February 2.
The fourth-year Raven recorded back-to-back twenty-point nights over the weekend as the Ravens beat Laurier and the West Division-leading Waterloo Warriors. On Friday, Pocrnic recorded 20 points in 18 minutes of play while adding a rebound, an assist and a steal.
On Saturday, Pocrnic led the charge as Carleton scored 53 points in the second half by scoring a team-high 20 points, 16 of which came in the game's final 20 minutes. Pocrnic carried much of the pace for Carleton adding 6 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and a block.
Ravens first-year guard Xavier Spencer was electric on Saturday night scoring 27 points while providing 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal. The point guard found his range, shooting 11-for-18 from the field and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc.
