Playing in Lusail Stadium, home of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final, Ravens alumni Gaby Bitar has quickly taken off. Just over two years ago Bitar was playing at TAAG Park, then known as the Ravens' Perch, in front of a capacity crowd as the Ravens hosted the U SPORTS National Championship game.
Second all-time among Ravens goal scorers, Bitar has excelled in his two-year pro career scoring five goals with Edmonton before joining Vancouver in 2023 and scoring a new career-high six in twenty-five appearances. Bitar becomes the first Ravens alumni to represent the program in a major international competition.
The AFC Asian Cup marked Bitar's second tour with the national team recording his fifth cap when he subbed on in the 80th minute. At just 25 years old, the young Raven continues to turn heads in the football community.
Team Lebanon dropped their first game of the tournament to host Qatar. Now, pressed to find a positive result, Bitar and crew will play China RP on Thursday at 6:30 a.m. EST before facing Tajikistan on January 22nd at 10:00 a.m. before the round of 16 begins on the January 28th.
