Coming off a convincing 5-2 win on home ice the Ravens men's hockey team has a rare mid-week trip when they face Toronto on Wednesday.
The Varsity Blues enter Wednesday night on a four-game slide. Sitting tied for second in the OUA West, Toronto is 0-3-1 in their last four with back-to-back losses to Queen's and RMC over the weekend. Carleton is in the thick of it as they try to reach the OUA playoffs for a sixteenth straight season. With one game in hand, the Ravens are four points back of Ontario Tech and trail by three regulation and overtime wins in the tiebreaker.
Nicholas Wong and Owen Robinson are players to watch for Toronto, scoring over a point per game so far in 2023-24. Wong and Cole Purboo lead the team with 10 goals each while Nick Grima leads all defenders with 16 points. Jett Alexander is the Varsity Blues go-to between the pipes, in 18 appearances Alexander has a 2.92 GAA and 0.910 sv%. Alexander is 1-5 versus the Eastern division this season, with his only win coming over UQTR on November 11.
The Ravens welcome the opportunity to play these crossover games, so far in 2023-24 they are 6-2 against the West with a three-game win streak dating back to mid-November.
