OTTAWA - The 2024 half of the Carleton Ravens men's hockey team got off to a rocky start on Thursday night as the Ravens dropped a physical 4-1 decision to the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
The Ravens came out hard in the first period, taking the early lead when Nolan Seed (Newboro, Ont.) wired home a wrist shot from the point beating Franky Lapenna. However, the Ravens' lead would be short-lived as Kaden Bryant beat Mark Grametbauer (Halifax, NS) with a point shot of his own just ten minutes later.
Tied at one after 20 minutes the game would get away from Carleton in the second period. Seconds after killing off their second penalty kill of the frame Anthony Poulin beat Mark Grametbauer to take the lead. The Gee-Gees wouldn't look back in the third.
After killing off the Ravens' power plays late in the second and early in the third, Tommy Bouchard would score for the Gee-Gees to put the game out of reach. Ottawa would add an empty-net goal late to lock up the victory.
