OTTAWA - The Carleton Ravens men's hockey team has fallen to 4-7 on home ice following a 3-1 loss to the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks on Saturday night.
The Ravens carried the play well in the first period, creating several chances off the rush but were unable to beat Ridgebacks goaltender William Desmarais. Despite the pressure, it would be the Ridgebacks who would strike first. Late in the first period Nolan Seed would be assessed a minor for interference off the faceoff. The Ridgebacks would capitalize just before the buzzer to take the lead.
Ryley Lanthier would add another in the second and Evan White would extend the lead to three five minutes into the third putting the Ravens under serious pressure. Carleton would battle back clawing for a scoring opportunity but were unable to break through until Liam Hurley was assessed a minor for delay of game with 2:19 to play.
The Ravens would capitalize on the power play as Nick McCarry unloaded a one-timer from the left circle, but it would prove to be too little to late as the Ravens would drop their second straight decision at home.
