Soo Sault Marie, Ont. - The Carleton Ravens women's basketball team continued their build towards the playoffs handing Algoma a 71-38 win on Saturday night.
As we've seen for much of the 2024 schedule, the Ravens depth was on full display Saturday. Led in scoring by Jacqueline Urban, the Ravens received key contributions from Hadeza Ismaila and Teresa Donato off the bench. The two Ottawa guards pitched in key minutes as Urban led the way with an 11 rebound and 17-point double-double.
By the end of the first quarter, Carleton led 18-7 and Urban had already racked up 5 rebounds and 8 points. Carleton's bench would kick in for the second quarter, providing solid depth and playing 19 minutes while combining for 4 points and 7 rebounds.
Carleton's 36 bench points continue an impressive run where head coach Dani Sinclair has been able to go deep into her rotations. As they've done so often, the rebounding didn't dip for the Ravens in the rotation with Carleton clearing 51 of 75 rebounds on the evening.
Carleton returns home to face Laurier on Friday night during the team's annual Shoot for the Cure game before hosting Waterloo on Saturday night for Carleton's Zero Waste Challenge game. Tickets for both nights are going quickly at GoRavens.ca/tickets.
