The Carleton Ravens welcome a pair of gritty West division opponents this weekend when Waterloo and Laurier visit the Nest.
On Friday, the 8-6 Golden Hawks enter the Ravens' Nest for Shoot for the Cure night in the thick of the playoff race. Then Saturday, the division-leading Waterloo Warriors visit when Carleton hosts our first-ever Zero-Waste Game.
The Golden Hawks have played well defensively of late, having not given up more than 70 points in a game since the season's opening weekend. Though the Golden Hawks recently dropped two games in a row against Waterloo, Laurier surrendered just 37 points to Lakehead last weekend. Expect to see Laurier shoot the three from everywhere, they currently lead the OUA in 3-point attempts per game, though they are 8th in completion percentage. Offensively, the Golden Hawks are led by Cassidy Hirtle. Only Hirtle and Kate White average over 10 points per game for the visitors.
On Saturday, the division-leading Warriors are winners of three straight. Shooting over 30% for three-point range, the Warriors have found success despite being 11th in the conference in points scored. Saturday will be an exceptional rebounding matchup as Waterloo only trails Carleton for most rebounds per game and team rebound margin. Nehita Oko-Oboh (9.6) and Jaime Newell (7.2) lead the visitors in rebounds per game. They'll be up against the Ravens team rebounding approach led by Tatyanna Burke (8.1) and Jacqueline Urban (7.9).
Tickets for both games are available now at GoRavens.ca/Tickets.
