Ravens fencer Ava Zheng is back on top as Athlete of the Week presented by McKeen Metro Glebe joined by men's basketball player Augustas Brazdeikis.
Returning to the podium for the second straight year, Ava Zheng captured the individual épée silver in the 2024 OUA Championships on Day 1 before helping the Ravens to capture bronze in the team relay on Day 2. Along with the women's bronze in the foil relay, the OUA All-Star Zheng and the Ravens finished third in the event taking the overall bronze medal.
The Ravens rookie continues establishing himself as a dynamic threat in the Ravens front court. On Friday night, the Oakville product recorded 14 rebounds while scoring 14 points for the double-double as Carleton beat UofT. Brazdeikis would add eight more rebounds and 14 points on Saturday night. His strong performance over the weekend now puts him second all-time in rebounds by a rookie with 140, passing Ravens great Aaron Doornekamp.
