With one weekend to go in the OUA men's basketball standings, there's a log jam for home-court advantage. The Ravens enter the weekend in 7th spot, tied in wins with TMU as pieces begin to fall into place.
With the top four teams, including each division winner, getting a first round bye, the Ravens are looking to hang into the 5-8 window and bring a first-round game to the Nest next Wednesday. Playing at home will be no easy task. The Ravens head on the road for the final weekend of the OUA season to face not one but two top-ten-ranked teams in Ontario Tech and Queen's.
On Friday, the Ravens visit the seventh-ranked Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, a program who beat Carleton for the first time early this season. Now 16-4, the Ridgebacks are within striking distance of Ottawa and Queen's for a top-four position and first round-bye. The Ridgebacks have won six straight, but will need to bring their best on Friday against a Ravens team that's found some momentum since the Capital Hoops Classic beating Toronto and TMU last weekend.
On Saturday night, the Ravens will then head back East to Kingston for a night with the Gaels. Queen's 17-3 record brings them into the weekend third in the OUA just 1 game behind Ottawa, who they face on Friday. With the division title potentially on the line, expect fireworks in the ARC, as there always seems to be, when these two bitter rivals meet.
Both Ravens games this weekend can be seen on OUA.tv.
