EDMONTON (Mar. 6, 2024) - For the second consecutive season, Ravens point guard Kali Pocrnic (Oakville, Ont.) has been named a Second Team All-Canadian.
The 5'3" guard continued where she left off in 2022-23, leading the Ravens with 332 points in just 26.2 minutes per game. Earning her third consecutive OUA First Team All-Star award last week, Pocrnic's 2023-24 season saw her pass 1,000 career points.
Pocrnic set a career-high in three-point percentage (36.0) scoring a career-high six threes twice in the postseason, including on February 24th when she scored a program record 40 points against McMaster. Pocrnic wrapped up the 2023-24 regular season only two three-pointers behind Madison Reid for the program three-point field goals record of 121.
On February 16 Kali recorded her first career two-block game against Ontario Tech.
The product of Lincoln Prep has started all 79 regular season games during her career playing over 2,313 minutes. Pocrnic is just 79 points behind Heather Lindsay for the first place all-time in Ravens scoring, despite playing 21 fewer regular season games.
Though not included in the voting, Pocrnic's playoff performance this season has only further cemented her name in Ravens' history. Pocrnic past the great Alyson Bush for most points in program history with 268 playoff points, a staggering 16.8 per game, while passing her assists total and shattering the record for most field goals with 95. Kali wrapped up the playoffs tied with Madison Reid, with each player having recorded 26 three-point field goals.
Pocrnic and the Ravens will continue to write the story of the 2023-24 season on Thursday when they open the U SPORTS Final 8 presented by the Westin Edmonton at 12:30 PM MST (2:30 PM EST) against the UFV Cascades.
