OTTAWA (April 29, 2024) - Ravens men's soccer head coach Marcelo Plada has been busy in his first off-season with the club, rebuilding after a strong graduating class helped lead the Ravens to the U SPORTS Championship tournament last season.
The defending OUA champions will have work to do if they want to compete for the top of the league again, but coach Plada believes the group of defenders announced on Monday are a first step towards continuing the programs success.
"We are going to see some high quality defenders coming in," he added. "There's a lot of dynamism. These players coming in have the obvious talent, but the speed and the technical ability that some of these players are bringing is first class."
Recognizing it's a major time of transition for the defensive group, coach Plada sees a big transition ahead. "Our back line is going to be quite strong, obviously we're missing some important players from the previous season but there's some talent in and coming into this back line that will provide a solution."
