OTTAWA (July 23, 2024) – The Carleton Ravens are proud to announce Alison Timlin as the new head coach of the golf program. Timlin will look to elevate the growing Ravens program, having previously served as the Associate Head Coach responsible for the women’s program.
Having grown up in Ottawa, Ontario, Timlin won the NCSSAA Individual Championship before attending Fresno State University, in California, on a full athletic scholarship. A Business Administration graduate, Alison played golf professionally after graduating before returning to her roots in Ottawa.
A PGA of Canada member, Timlin works with golfers of all abilities as a program lead at Kevin Haime Golf School in Kanata. She is a staff PGA Pro with Cobra Puma Golf and a certified TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Instructor.
Alison was recognized nationally in 2022 as part of Golf Canada’s development pathway for Women Coaches, which has helped give women coaches increased access to resources and mentors in the golf industry.
“I can’t go without thanking our former Head Coach David McBain enough for being an incredible mentor to me," said Timlin. “Coaching the Carleton student-athletes is one of the ways I have been fortunate to give back to the game I love so much! I am eager to help bring out the best in this young team that I have been lucky to get to work with over the past few years.”
“I am grateful and excited to welcome Alison as our new Head Coach of our Golf Program,” expressed Director of High Performance Sport, Kwesi Loney. “She’s a leader in the space and comes with a wealth of experience that our athletes will benefit from. Her previous work within the program as an assistant will give her a head start on establishing a continued winning culture and clear pathway for athletes to develop.”
