OTTAWA (July 15, 2024) - Carleton Ravens star guard Kali Pocrnic is the latest member of the women's basketball program to sign a professional contract. The Oakville guard joins Torpan Pojat (ToPo) in Helsinki.
The back-to-back U SPORTS Final 8 MVP, Pocrnic dominated the U SPORTS landscape over the last two seasons while earning Carleton Athlete of the Year and Graduating Female Athlete honours. A two-time U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian, Pocrnic burst onto the scene in 2019-20 earning an OUA All-Rookie nomination before helping lead Carleton to back-to-back U SPORTS titles.
Pocrnic's Carleton career closes with her ranked third all time in points, despite only playing in 79 games. Her 13.1 points per game average is the highest of any Raven to ever pass the 50 game mark. Kali moves onto the professional ranks second all-time in three-point field goals and third all time in assists.
While her career started by breaking Ravens rookie records, including shattering the program's rookie assists records, Carleton fans are most likely to remember her playoff performances. On February 24, Pocrnic went off in the OUA Quarterfinals recording 17 field goals including a program record tying 6 three-point field goals and a program record 40 points. Pocrnic would repeat his six threes just a week and a half later, dropping another half dozen as the Ravens beat Queen's at home to repeat as Critelli Cup Champions.
