OTTAWA (July 4, 2024) - The Carleton Ravens women’s hockey team and head coach Stacey Colarossi are proud to announce Celine Tardif as the team’s first full-time assistant coach.
Tardif joins the Ravens from Vancouver, British Columbia, where she’s served as an Assistant Coach with the Pacific Steelers U19 team and as a Skill Coach with the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. A five-year member of the Thunderbirds as a player, the Parksville, BC, product played over 137 career games, including 28 in each of her last four years with UBC. She was a two-year captain and spent two seasons as an assistant captain. In 2018, Tardif represented U SPORTS at the Hockey Canada Summer Showcase.
Following her five-year U SPORTS career, Celine played four professional seasons and 125 regular season games in Sweden’s SDHL.
“I was really drawn to the idea of competing and winning, but in the right way,” explained Tardif. “I am encouraged at the steps Carleton has taken to continue the growth and success of the women’s hockey program that will drive progress for the upcoming season and years to come.”
“I am very excited to bring Celine into our staff,” said coach Stacey Colarossi. “Her experience and success in USPORTS along with her professional playing career overseas will add a new dimension to the program.” The Ravens add a full-time assistant to the women’s hockey program just as the team prepares to join the OUA this fall. “I am appreciative of the university’s commitment and investment to the hockey program,” added coach Colarossi.
After two seasons supporting the Ravens’ recruiting initiatives, while also playing a vital role on the staff, Bill Courchaine has received a new title, promoted to Associate Coach. “Bill has worked tirelessly over the past two seasons,” said Colarossi. “His work recruiting and helping our players to prepare day-in and day-out has been invaluable to the program’s growth and development.”
The Ravens begin play in the OUA on Friday, October 11, when they host the Brock Badgers at the Carleton Ice House.
