OTTAWA (August 21, 2024) - Back-to-back playoff appearances aren't enough for the 2024 Ravens. Led by a strong contingent of returning players, there's a hunger inside the Carleton room that is fueling the team's core ahead of kickoff this Saturday.
The Ravens return home for their 2024 home opener on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
The Ravens will look to continue a balanced three-team game that's delivered them success under head coach Corey Grant. With a 9-7 record after two years at the helm of the Ravens, coach Grant's crew is looking to take the next step in a competitive OUA conference.
The Ravens' defensive line won't be short of leadership in 2024. Returning CFL Draft pick Ife Onyeka, the Ravens core is an intimidating mix with Onyeka and Isaiah Joseph leading tackles Brody Burke, Jayden Delorme, Nathan Clark and Michael Lightbody.
Without star corner Louis Lavaud, the Ravens will lean on a strong interior which features returning players Chris Toupin, Xavier Malone and Malik Yusuf among a deep group of linebackers.
The Ravens offense is charging into the regular season after a very competitive camp that saw battles all over the field. Led by All-Canadian Kaseem Ferdinand, the Ravens wide receiving core is a blend of speed and strength. Just the right mix for Ravens quarterback Tristan Lefebvre who had a breakout season in 2023.
Along with Lefebvre, Elijah Barnes is back under centre for Carleton after spending time this summer with the Canadian U20 program. Both quarterbacks will line up behind Edmonton pick Patrick Lavoie and veterans Angus O'Mara and Dylan McCoy. The trio lead an athletic offensive line that includes local recruit Jett Hudson.
Familiar names will dominate Ravens special teams, as a pair of big boots return. The consistent Brandon Forcier is back in his fourth-year. After a record setting rookie year, Forcier has continued to add power and accuracy in each of his three previous seasons with the team. While the Ravens will hope to see less of Joey Sciandra this season, the punter is nothing if not reliable. Last season Sciandra led the OUA with 63 punts for 2538 yards.
